Ingredients Used

Exemestane (Aromasin): A steroidal aromatase inhibitor that lowers estrogen levels by permanently inactivating the aromatase enzyme, helping slow or stop ER+ breast cancer cell growth.

Who Is It For?

• Postmenopausal women with ER+ early or advanced breast cancer. 

• Some premenopausal women, only if combined with ovarian suppression. 

Not for: pregnant women, breastfeeding women, premenopausal women without suppression, or hormone‑receptor‑negative breast cancer.

Primary Uses

• Adjuvant treatment after 2–3 years of Tamoxifen to complete 5‑year hormonal therapy.

• Treatment of advanced breast cancer that has spread after Tamoxifen.

• Reduces estrogen production, lowering recurrence risk.

• May reduce breast cancer development risk in high‑risk postmenopausal women.

Dosage (Informational Only)

• Standard: 25 mg tablet once daily after a meal. 

• Duration commonly 1–2 years (doctor‑directed). 

• Dosage may increase to 50 mg if interacting medications reduce Aromasin levels (doctor‑determined).
